Test Indications |
Vitamin D is primarily requested for the investigation of metabolic bone disease. Other indications may in hyperparathyroidism, TB patients, individuals on anticonvulsant therapy, subjects on anti-retroviral therapy and those with CKD or nephrotic syndrome. |

Limitations/Interferences |
High levels of sample haemolysis interfere with the test and in such cases results are not reported. High protein levels can cause non-reproducible false high vitamin D results. |
