Changes to lipid profile reporting in Clinical Biochemistry
Low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is a calculated test result field on lipid profiles reported in the Clinical Biochemistry department. This test field is used in the assessment of cardiovascular risk.

24-hour urine collections for metanephrine analysis
From Monday 29 September, 24-hour urine collections for metanephrine analysis will be collected into bottles without an acid preservative. This preservative has previously been used to stabilise urine metanephrines in the sample, but urine metanephrines have been shown to be stable both with and without the preservative.

From Monday 28th October the Clinical Biochemistry service will be implementing the following changes:

The following tests will be processed only at the Peterborough City Hospital site (and as such no longer processed at the Hinchingbrooke Hospital site):
