Test indications

These antibodies are found in patients with paraneoplastic neuromuscular disorder Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS). This is usually associated with small cell carcinoma of the lung, but occasionally LEMS can develop before a carcinoma is apparent (40% have VGCC Ab). Very occasionally LEMS can develop without carcinoma.
