The Ultimate Goal
The Ultimate Goal is an educational docu-drama produced by Divine Creations Limited, UK to promote Pathology among the public. Darren Scott is an upcoming football player. He is playing in the first game for his new club. There is huge expectation from his fans but, to everybody's horror, he collapses on the grounds while playing. He is taken to the City Hospital. Sam Waters, a high school student, is beginning a work place attachment in the Pathology laboratory at the City Hospital. Darren Scott's blood tests raise a suspicion that he may have blood cancer. Dr Kumar, Consultant Hematologist at the City Hospital advises Sam to follow Darren's case to learn about Pathology and to appreciate what Pathologists do behind the scene. Sam follows Dr Kumar's advice. He learns what happens in Hematology, Histopathology, Biochemistry and Microbiology departments. Darren Scott is diagnosed to have blood cancer and treated with chemotherapy by Dr Kumar. He achieves complete remission and is discharged from hospital. Impressed by the work of Pathologists, Sam Waters decides to become a Biomedical Scientist. Darren Scott goes back to play football for his club and in his first game since return he scores The Ultimate Goal.
